Privacy and Social Media

Social Media is shunned to privacy. Myspace, Facebook, early blogging sites was created for users to feel connected to others and express ones self interest. People share personal images, humor, creativity, opinions, etc. and are often misguided by what can be meant. We learn about people in our world, and they learn about us through social media. Many are thankful to social media, because of it, we know our coworkers interests, our classmates' hobbies. All of this sharing can help create certain types of communities as well as destroy privacy. Too much published information can either make or break your image. It can present obstacles for yourself to the people around you. Your social media page usually depicts who you are. what happens when you are applying for an important job position and the employer searches your page to find you funneling a beer last weekend with your friends at the tail gate. Social Media is not simply a collection of online places that allow private information to slide, but social media sites are organized to draw as much participation and information out of us as possible.
