a twitter discussion can be similar to a "blackboard" discussion. In both students are posting their thoughts and are given a chance to express their beliefs. Many people enjoy discussions through the web, where their face is not recognized and is replace by a username. In my opinion, the best type of discussion is always face-to-face. You can see a persons natural reactions, facial expressions, and emotion. In a class discussion you can feel comfortable to freely say how you feel without second guessing on what to post online.
