blog about twitter
a twitter discussion can be similar to a "blackboard" discussion. In both students are posting their thoughts and are given a chance to express their beliefs. Many people enjoy discussions through the web, where their face is not recognized and is replace by a username. In my opinion, the best type of discussion is always face-to-face. You can see a persons natural reactions, facial expressions, and emotion. In a class discussion you can feel comfortable to freely say how you feel without second guessing on what to post online.
creativity & new media
In the new media world you have no limits. New Media technologies allow you to create a virtual world and allows you to do things and pushes your imagination that you can't do in reality. A good example of new media n the virtual world is sims the game. A program that allows you to build/create a world that suits you best. You design your dream home, virtual family and live as you wish. It promotes creativity by allowing users to care custom content which you can use.
Privacy and Social Media
Social Media is shunned to privacy. Myspace, Facebook, early blogging sites was created for users to feel connected to others and express ones self interest. People share personal images, humor, creativity, opinions, etc. and are often misguided by what can be meant. We learn about people in our world, and they learn about us through social media. Many are thankful to social media, because of it, we know our coworkers interests, our classmates' hobbies. All of this sharing can help create certain types of communities as well as destroy privacy. Too much published information can either make or break your image. It can present obstacles for yourself to the people around you. Your social media page usually depicts who you are. what happens when you are applying for an important job position and the employer searches your page to find you funneling a beer last weekend with your friends at the tail gate. Social Media is not simply a collection of online places that allow private information to slide, but social media sites are organized to draw as much participation and information out of us as possible.
